Prophet TB Joshua: the Rochas Okorocha of Religious leaders in Nigeria.

Rochas Okorocha’s philanthropy is unrivalled in the history of humanitarian activities in Nigeria. His, is uniformly distributed across the six geo-political zones of the country like a federal project. The only difference, being that his projects get executed across board unlike the experience with the federal ones in which the lot of some are, contract for design, while others get in addition to design, actual execution. Even some gets theirs buried under, environmental impact assessment studies or the most recent, public private partnership. Pardon the digression; it is almost inevitable.

On Okorocha, the last time there was public information to my knowledge, about his activities in the area of charity work, was that a university was been built to cater for the thousands of students coming out of his many secondary schools, all for free.

And to TB Joshua, the Senior Pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nation, one would state that it is very gratifying to know that in this era where the gospel is not worth preaching by the reigning men, women, boys, girls and even babies of God, unless the preachment is about God loving cheerful givers, and the opening of the windows of heaven to pour forth more riches on tithe payers, that there is still someone who knows that there are more honest rec3eivers than givers in the land.

While God is ordering his counterparts to acquire more automobile and in some cases, private jets with cost in the billion brackets, the same God is asking him to love humanity like himself and consequently, improve their earthly and heavenly fortunes. He is today, father to the fatherless, mother to the motherless, friend to the friendless and government to the government-less.

of particular mention, is the case of a geography graduate from one of the nations universities that got a scholarship to the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, for his masters program at a cost of over five million naira. This is outside of the almost weekly doling out of bags of rice, flour, and cash, both in local and foreign currencies to the needy members of the public like the Paralympics, dwarfs, widows, widowers, and other such helpless groups. This is a sharp contrast to his counterparts who rakes in million for investment diversification.

Little wonder then, that the good lord magnanimously found him worthy for the arduous task of delivering his people from the vice grip of the devil. Such powers in the hands of such ministers, who have made the criticism of his ministries their past time, would have seen deliverance going to the highest bidders.

Such critic claims he doesn’t preach. But with the exception of preachers like Rev. Fr. Toni Mario Ozele and the late Bishop Benson Idahosa, amongst the many I have had the opportunity of listening to, there are very few that can interpret the letters of the bible like he does, their massive deployment of sophisticated grammar, notwithstanding.
