Atiku: champion of democracy @ 67

Not a few believes that but for his above the board conduct as the busiest Vice President in Nigeria’s history, his former boss, President Obasanjo desire to extend his stay in office through constitution amendment would have been a fait accompli. No thanks to the damaging reports that would have filled the media and all the attendant consequences.

Born into a very humble family in Niger state, he extricated himself as the only surviving child of his mother from poverty through a combination of street intelligence and luck. Before veering into politics; he had served in the Nigerian Customs Service, retiring at the top level.

One is joining millions of Nigerians who appreciate his efforts and selfless services to the fatherland in wishing him many more fruitful years in the service of politicking our dear country unto the pathway of sustainable growth and development.

Happy birthday!!!
